When to use it
Use ~向きだ to say something is inherently well suited to a purpose, audience, or setting — often when triaging materials, venues, formats or personnel in reports and meetings. In written register it frequently pairs with its negative 不向き to draw a contrast. Distinguish it from ~向け, which marks a deliberately intended target (子供向けの番組 = made for children; 子供向きの番組 = happens to suit children).
