~ものと思われる
~ mono to omowareru
it is thought that (formal, news)
When to use it
Use ~ものと思われる when stating an inference or estimate in a detached, objective register — press releases, incident reports, market outlooks, formal email. It is markedly stiffer than ~と思われる and much stiffer than ~でしょう, so it signals that the judgment is institutional rather than personal. Common in reporting causes, forecasts and probable outcomes where you want to hedge without sounding uncertain.
